Susquehanna Service Dogs
SSD raises, trains and places service dogs with children and adults to lead more independent lives. Their dogs are trained for mobility, hearing, autism and psychiatric disabilities. They have successfully placed more than 200 dogs in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. They are fully accredited members of ADI. They have their own breeding program, and donate several puppies a year to other smaller organizations. This grant will support 1 litter of puppies (5-8 puppies each litter) they have a 50% success rate for their litters going on to be service dogs. The other dogs are placed as therapy dogs. Funding covers stud fees, vet bills, puppy formulas and medicines, vaccinations, socialization and foster family support.
