The Planet Dog Foundation understands that there are numerous ways to support innovative and like-minded organizations in addition to cash grants. Because our grant making budget is limited, we seek creative alternatives to our formalized grant program.

 


Product Donation Program

There is a structured, budgeted amount of new, first quality products for donation each year. These are gift baskets offered as items for Silent Auctions or raffle prizes at events catering to our target audience and which assist organizations that share Planet Dog’s values. These baskets are earmarked for non-profit organizations only, though groups do not need to work with dogs to apply. Baskets will vary depending on the nature of the event.

Occasionally, Planet Dog has overstock of discontinued or second quality goods for donation. If your organization is willing to accept these items without previous notice, please make a note of it on the written application.

PLEASE NOTE: Because we receive many more requests than we can possibly fill, written applications MUST be submitted and received at Planet Dog at least 6 weeks before the date items are needed. E-mail applications are not accepted- we require a hard copy by fax or mail. Last minute requests will not be considered.

WE HAVE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF PRODUCT FOR DONATION. WE TRY TO ACCOMODATE AS MANY APPLICANTS AS POSSIBLE, BUT THE DEMAND FAR EXCEEDS OUR CAPACITY TO GIVE. SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE A PRODUCT DONATION.

We do not accept product requests online. Please print the application form and send along with the required documents listed. Without proper documentation, requests will not be considered.

  • All requesting organizations must be a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit.

  • For-profits or individuals do not qualify.

  •      The following organizations/types of events also do not qualify:

                        

    Religious, political, or sectarian organizations

    Scholarship Programs

    Agility Trials & Competitions
    Breed-Specific shows and Competitions

Requests must come on the named 501(c)3 nonprofit’s letterhead. If a volunteer submits the application on behalf of a nonprofit, please be sure to include contact information at the named nonprofit. Please include a physical street address- we cannot ship to a P.O. Box. Please note: we generally do not ship product to a volunteer’s house. If you need an exception, please contact the Executive Director.

Along with the application form, please include your nonprofit’s IRS exemption letter with federal tax identification number. Please include promotional materials for the event. Without these two items, requests will not be considered.

Requests will not be accepted with less than 6 weeks lead-time.
In most cases, the average product donation will be between $25-$100 in retail value. For additional information, please contact the Executive Director.
